α-Alkoxy organolithium compounds, generated through the treatment of the corresponding tri-n-butylstannane with n-BuLi, smoothly condense with N,N-dimethylamides to afford α-alkoxy carbonyl products.This condensation is functionally equivalent to a regiocontrolled acyloin condensation.
