lowest effect guideline (LEL) were exceeded at
52% and 22% of the sites, respectively. The pollu-
tants identified as exceeding various guidelines,
mercury, PCBs, and dioxins and furans, are respon-
sible for the fish consumption advisories in Lake
Erie.
