A mechanistic study on vapor-phase oxidative dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene by COS over SiO2, Al2O3, MgO, and TiO2 catalysts has been carried out.The results obtained indicate that the sulfur evolved by the heterogeneous catalytic decomposition of COS dehydrogenated ethylbenzene in the homogeneous phase.
