The electroreduction of allyl an benzyl bromides takes place at a reduction potential less negative than that of the bromides to give coupling products with enhanced yields if Cu(acac)2 is added to the solution, while the yields of the couplings of allyl- and benzyl chlorides and allyl iodide are unaffected by the addition of Cu(acac)2.
