44 In the previous communication,45 we reported that iodotol-
uene was quantitatively detected in the 1-catalyzed iodination of
toluene in the presence of DDQ. However, 13% of chlorotoluene
(o/p = 67/33) was also formed in that case and the correct yield of
iodotoluene was 82%.
