Treatment of with (C7H4NS)2PCH2CH2P(C7H4NS)2 (BTPE) in tetrahydrofuran gives the complex which oxidises in the presence of CHCl3 to form <2>2, whose X-ray structure shows the cation to have the BTPE spanning two rhodiums by P-N ligation.
