Low-loading Re2O7/Al2O3*B2O3-MR4 (M = Sn or Pb, R = alkyl) catalysts show high activity and selectivity at room temperature (293 +/-2 K) for the metathesis of functionalized alkenes; this is attributed to their strong Broensted acidity.
