Linear cooligomerization of piperylene with propylene over the catalyst NiCl₂[P(C₄H₉)3]₂- (C₂H₅)2AlCl results in the formation of 2,3-dimethyl-1,4-hexadiene and 4,5-dimethyl-2,5,8-undecatriene, and to their isomers containing conjugated double bonds.
