Efficient synthesis of benzoic acid half mustards

The synthesis of a benzoic acid half mustard 3 was achieved in high yiels using a reductive-alkylation approach. This method can be scaled up (in this case 10 g) and it is adaptable to the synthesis of other half mustards.
