UV/vis spectroscopy and analyses of catalytic activity in
hydrosilylation, we conclude that the cyclic skeleton had a
considerable effect on catalytic activity despite no substantial
effect on the complexes’ local structure around the metal or
electronic properties. These findings open the door to the design
of novel macrocyclic pincer-type catalysts including CNC (2,6-
diphenylpyridine) and NNN (terpyridine) donor sets.
