bonate species. Systematic studies at temperatures up to 200 ◦C
revealed that this phenomenon is less pronounced at higher tem-
perature. Studies of the interaction with CO and O2 showed that
the model catalysts were active for CO oxidation at tempera-
tures above ∼100◦C, and investigations of the interaction with
CO and H2 suggested that Pd facilitated the formation of for-
mates on MgO at temperatures above ∼200◦C via dissociation
of hydrogen on the Pd particles.
