25 In Ref. 12 it was suggested that in the 147 nm ͑Xe resonance line͒ pho-
tolysis studies ͑Ref. 11͒ the majority of the excited molecules could be of
the Rydberg ͑B band͒ type. This was based on the fact that the extinction
coefficient measured in the 147 nm experiments was considerably higher
than the literature value which one would expect for valence ͑A band͒
excitation.
