was dissolved in 7 mL of pentane stirred vigorously as a 3 mL
solution of DMAP (41.6 mg, 341 μmol) in toluene was added.
The resulting mixture was allowed to stir for 2 h at ambient tem-
perature. The mixture was then filtered through glass fiber and
the solvent was removed in vacuo. The product was then ex-
tracted with ~ 6 mL of 50/50 pentane/toluene, filtered through
Celite, concentrated to saturation and placed into the –35 °C
freezer. Pale yellow microcrystalline solids form in a yellow
green solution. The final product was obtained following de-
cantation of the supernatant, rinsing with –35 °C toluene and
drying under vacuum. This produced 86 mg of a product that
was ~95% pure – multiple attempts to separate another
