A very unusual dithiodiketopiperazine structure (1) has been assigned to aspirochlorine, C9H12N2O5S2Cl, produced as a biologically active substance together with canadensolide by Aspergillus flavus, which has been found to be identical with the antibiotic A 30641 from A. tamarii.
