Microwave-assisted direct esterification of a cyclic phosphinic acid with phenols

The direct esterification of 1-hydroxy-3-methyl-3-phospholene 1-oxide with substituted phenols under microwave irradiation in the presence of 10% of [bmim][PF6] affords the corresponding aryl phosphinates in 52–64% yields.
