The title reactions were found to proceed in solution with formation of a mixture of the complexes (FeF)SiF6 and (FeF2)2SiF6 with an average atomic ratio F/Fe ⋍ 1.6. Partial reactions involved in equilibria in the reaction system are proposed and discussed.
