Vibrational spectroscopic study of iron(II) and iron(III) oxalates

Add time:08/13/2019 Source:sciencedirect.com
The vibrational spectra of iron(II) and iron(III) oxalates are reported and molecular structures of D2h and D3h, respectively, are found to be consistent with the spectral assignments. The characterisation of these oxalates is important in the area of lichen environmental biodeterioration of sandstone substrata in which oxalic acid is produced, and the application of the current study to the degradation of iron species is identified.
