Excess Gibbs free energy for cyclohexane + nitromethane, + nitroethane, + 1-Nitropropane (cas 108-03-2), and + 2-nitropropane at 318.15 K

Vapour pressures for mixtures of cyclohexane + nitromethane, + nitroethane, + 1-nitropropane, and + 2-nitropropane at 318.15 K have been determined using a stepwise-dilution static vapour-pressure apparatus. Particular attention is paid to mixtures dilute in nitroalkane. Activity coefficients and excess Gibbs free energies GE have been calculated, where appropriate, by both the Barker method and a spline-fit method. The values of GE calculated by both methods agree to within 2 J mol−1 over the composition range. Nitromethane + cyclohexane is only partially miscible at 318.15 K.
