Burnett-type equipment for obtaining low pressure PVT data was constructed and tested. The raw data were reduced using the method of Hall and Canfield and one proposed in this work. Both methods give closely similar results. Good agreement was found with the literature values for the second virial coefficients of methanol and ethanol at 343.15, 353.15 and 363.15 K and for an acetone—chloroform binary mixture at 358.15 K. Finally, the second virial coefficients for n-amylamine and for the systems, n-amylamine—methanol and n-amylamine—ethanol at 363.15 K are presented.
