The electronic states and luminescence properties of the naphthalene—Tetrachlorophthalic anhydride (cas 117-08-8) charge-transfer crystal

The location and characterization of the electronic states of the naphthalene—tetrachlorophthalic anhydride charge-transfer crystal is investigated through the use of tunable laser singlet—triplet excitation, and phosphorescence-microwave double resonance studies. The lowest triplet crystal state is found to be a triplet naphthalene exciton, and its dimensionality is discussed.
