The singlet-triplet absorption spectra of electron-donor-acceptor complex crystals: naphthalene-Tetrachlorophthalic anhydride (cas 117-08-8) and naphthalene-tetrabromophthalic anhydride

The direct observations of the singlet-triplet absorption spectra of naphthalene-tetrachlorophthalic anhydride and naphthalene-tetrabromophthalic anhydride complex crystals are presented. Polarization and preliminary Zeeman studies show that the observed spectra are attributed to the T1 ←So transition of perturbed naphthalene, but its oscillator strength is enhanced by one to two orders of magnitude in the complex crystal.
