The Raman spectra and excitation profiles of solid 1,8-Dihydroxyanthraquinone (cas 117-10-2) at 8 K have been measured. Their analysis together with the absorption and fluorescence spectra allowed us to individuate the existence of four electronic transitions in the visible region. For the two highest energy transitions the potential curve shifts between the ground and the excited states were calculated in terms of a multi-mode approach.
