One of the three pigments isolated in crystalline form from the mycelium of the dermatophyte, Trichophyton rubrum, has been shown to be identical with the pigment, xanthomegnin (cas 1685-91-2), previously isolated from T. megnini. Several additional derivatives of the compound are reported.
