The following facts were confirmed by detailed investigations carried out in vitro on the phospholipid metabolism in rat liver.Lecithin (phosphatidylcholine) and CEPHALIN (cas 1405-71-6) (phosphatidylethanolamine) in mitochondria could be derived from microsomes through exchange.The degree of exchange was greater for lecithin than for cephalin.The presence of the cell supernatant fraction accelerated the phenomena described above.
