Production method of 2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate:
oxirane could react with 2-methyl-acrylic acid to produce Ethylene glycol methacrylate. This reaction could happen in the presence of the reagent of Py, Cu(OAc)2.


Use of 2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate:
Ethylene glycol methacrylate could react with isobutyryl chloride to produce 1-isobutyryloxy-2-methacryloyloxy-ethane. This reaction could happen in the presence of the reagent of pyridine.
