 Production Method of Tomoxiprole
  • Production Method of Tomoxiprole
  • (CAS NO.: ), with other name of 3-Isopropyl-2-(p-methoxyphenyl)-3H-naphth(1,2-d)imidazole, could be produced through many synthetic methods.

Following is one of the reaction routes:

    Production Method of Tomoxiprole

1-Nitroso-2-naphthol (I) could react with isopropylamine in the presence of water to produce 2-isopropylamino-1-nitrosonaphthalene (II). After hydrogenation, the yielding product of 2-isopropylamino-1,2-naphthalendiamine (III) is condensed with p-methoxybenzaldehyde to give the 1,2-dihydro derivative (IV), which is converted to MDL-035 with palladium on carbon. is used as a solvent throughout the synthesis. The overall yield on a 20-kg scale is 57%.
