  • Honey is a kind of nutritious natural food that is usually used as an invigorant. According to the food analysis, honey is rich in a variety of vitamins, minerals, organic acids and beneficial microelements. Laevulose, dextrose and amylases can be easily found in it as well. Scientific studies have shown that there are more than 180 kinds of nutrition within this food. The following kinds are the most familiar and helpful ones. 

    First of all, there is a lot of sugar in honey. Different from ordinary sugar like cane sugar, the sugar in honey such as laevulose and dextrose does not need the process of digestion. It can be directly absorbed by the intestines so that it would not fall any burden to the stomach and intestines, which is especially good for children and the elderly.

    Secondly, vitamins also reach a large amount. There are many kinds of vitamins in it. The amount of vitamin B is as much as 300 milligrams to 400 milligrams in every 100 grams of honey.

    Thirdly, honey is an ideal source of organic acids, including citric acid, lactic acid, butyric acid and malic acid. There are also some inorganic acids or mineral acids like hydrochloric acid and phosphoric acid.

    Fourthly, there is a small amount of minerals. But fortunately, there are various kinds. For example, the potassium in honey can protect the heart, while the calcium strengthens the bones. Besides, the magnesium clams nervous emotions and the iron and the copper can help with the blood circulation.

    Last but not the least, there are enzymes in honey. The quality of honey depends largely on the number of enzymes. If there are a lot of enzymes, the honey is mature and nutritious enough. It is the enzymes that make the sugar in honey different from ordinary sugar. The enzymes are not innate but added to honey in the brewing process. They are extracted from the saliva of bees. These enzymes are capable of converting cane sugar into dextrose and laevulose.

    We have to be aware that honey differs from each other in nutrition because of its resources. We have to know the situation of our bodies and make a careful decision before eating. But still, we can naturally come to a conclusion that honey is good for health. It is said that the ancient Greeks considered honey as a gift of God. According to the records in ancient Chinese medical books on herbs, honey plays an important role in detoxification and functions as an inexpensive but effective medicine. It not only does goods to patients, who suffer from neurasthenic, diabetes, high blood pressure or arteriosclerosis, but also slows down the aging process and makes people look much younger and more beautiful.
