  • In recent years, some chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes, have become more and more common among people. These diseases, which are highly related with our daily diets, have become a "killer" which causes serious harms on human health. Recently, some authoritative nutrition experts have listed five kinds of food, and remind people to eat less or do not eat them as much as possible, so as to prevent these chronic diseases.

    First, high concentration liquor
    Besides water, the main ingredient in liquor is . Ethanol can damage the mucosa epithelium, and cause inflammation and ulcers, thus inhibiting the digestion process. When ethanol acts on the nervous system and cerebral cortex, it can cause conditioned reflex disorders. Long-term alcohol abuse may also lead to hardening of the liver fats, blurred vision and memory loss. In addition, the metabolism of ethanol will consume a lot of vitamin B1, which may cause beriberi.

    Second, smoked foods
    People who like eating smoked food are easier to suffer from gastric cancer and colon cancer than other people. This is because that in the smoking process of the food, the burning of the fuel will produce a strong carcinogen called as benzopyrene. For example, after the meat is smoked on the fire, it will contain up to 107 mg of benzopyrene. As a result, we should eat less or never eat any smoked foods, and this should be regarded as a principle for a scientific diet.

    Third, pickled foods
    Pickled foods can be divided into two groups: fermented and non-fermented pickled foods. Fermented pickled foods include tuber mustards; and non-fermented pickled foods include pickles. The reason why we should restrict from pickled foods is that they contain too much salt, and the improper processing methods may cause some harmful substances, such as nitrosamines and excessive nitrite.

    Fourth, fried foods
    Fried foods often contain a lot of fat, especially the flour and starch fried foods, which can easily absorb fat and oil. Excessive intake of fat and oil will increase the calories and cause weight gaining. In addition, the unreasonable frying methods will make the food contain some harmful substances, such as heterocyclic amine compounds.

    Fifth, sugary drinks
    Besides the increasing of energy and weight, and causing dental caries in children, excessive intake of sugary drinks will also increase the consumption of B vitamins, leading to vitamin deficiencies in human body. What's more, drinking too much sugary drinks, especially before a meal, will reduce the appetite at the dinner, which may cause imbalanced nutrient intake, thus affecting the digestion and absorption of the food.
