  • As we all know, yoghurt is very beneficial to human health, so more and more people begin to regard it as an important part in their daily diets. However, few people realize that they should pay attention to some notices when drinking yoghurt.

    First, learn how to identify different varieties of yoghurt.
    Nowadays, there are many kinds of "yoghurt" which are made from milk or milk powder, sugar, lactic acid or citric acid, malic acid, spices and preservatives. This kind of "yoghurt" does not have the health effect of the real yoghurt. As a result, you should be careful and identify it when buying yoghurt.

    Second, do not drink yoghurt with an empty stomach.
    The PH suitable for the growth of the lactic acid bacteria is above 5.4. When the stomach is empty, the PH of the gastric juice is below 2.0. At this moment, if you drink yogurt, a lot of lactic acid bacteria will be killed, so the health effect of yoghurt will be weakened.

    Third, rinse the mouth in time after you drink yoghurt.
    With the development of the lactic acid beverages, the rate of decayed tooth for the children is also increasing. This is caused by the leading role of certain lactic acid bacteria.

    Fourth, yoghurt should not be heated.
    If the yogurt is heated or diluted in hot water, a lot of active lactic acid bacteria contained in yoghurt will die. This not only will lead to the loss of the unique flavor of yoghurt, but also will greatly destroy its nutritional value.

    Fifth, it is inappropriate to drink yoghurt with some medicines at the same time.
    Some medicines contain certain chemical substances, which can kill or damage the lactic acid bacteria in yogurt. These medicines include antibiotics such as chloramphenicol and erythromycin, sulfanilamide drugs, and some astringents which are used for the treatment of diarrhea.

    Sixth, infant should not drink yoghurt.
    Yogurt is low in calcium. As the infants are at the phase of growth and development, so they need a great amount of calcium. What's more, the lactic acid bacteria contained in yoghurt can produce antibiotic. Although the antibiotic can inhibit and destroy a lot of pathogen microorganisms, however, it will also undermine the favorable condition for the growth of the beneficial bacteria in human body. At the same time, it may also affect the normal digestive function of the body, and it is particularly harmful for the premature infants or those suffering from gastroenteritis.
