The absolute configurations of enantiomeric 7-bromo-12-methylbenzanthracene cis-5,6-dihydrodiols (3) were determined by exciton chirality circular dichroism method.The absolute configurations of enantiomeric 12-methylbenzanthracene cis-5,6-dihydrodiols(1) were determined by debromination of enantiomeric 3 of known absolute stereochemistry.
