(2-Butenyl)triphenoxytitanium, prepared in situ from (2-butenyl)magnesium halogenide and chlorotriphenoxytitanium in tetrahydrofuran solution, adds to aldehydes with like (Re,Re/Si,Si<*>Re*,Re*) relative topicity in diastereoselectivities of 80-99percent.
