A 25 mL round-bottom fask equipped with a magnetic bar
and a water condenser was charged with propargylic alco-
hol 1 (1.0 mmol), arene 2 (1.1 mmol), MeCN (2.0 mL) and
PTSA (10 mol%) in air atmosphere. The fask was placed
into a constant temperature oil-bath at 80 °C and the pro-
gress of the reaction was monitored by TLC. After comple-
tion of the reaction, the solvent was removed under reduced
pressure and the crude reaction mixture was purifed by col-
umn chromatography.
