1,4-Acylation-alkylation of 1,3-dienes occurred regioselectively via (η³-1-acetonylallylic)Fe(CO)2NO complexes upon treatment of 1,3-dienes with iodomethane in the presence of Bu4NFe(CO)3NO and then with carbon nucleophiles or carbon electrophile.
