Reaction of 15N-labelled ammonia with a toluene solution of (EtO)2SeO under reduced pressure gives Se4¹⁵N4; in the presence of (with CH2Cl2 as solvent) the same reagents yield 15N2)(PMe2Ph)2> whilst 15NH3, and SOCl2 react to form .
