Compound 4c. (88%), m.p.: 158–160ꢁC. (Methanol). IR (KBr): 3347,

Hydrolysis of 4a–c; R1 ¼ H and 3d–e: General Procedure
A solution of compound (15 mmol) in alcohol (300 mL) was refluxed
with 10% sodium hydroxide solution (50 mL) for 30 min. The solution
was poured over ice and the precipitated solid was filtered, washed
with water, dried over anhydrous calciumchloride and purified by
crystallization .
