(η6-Aren)(η4-buta-1,3-dien)ruthenium(0)-Komplexe: Synthese und Eigenschaften sowie Kristallstruktur von (Benzol)(butadien)ruthenium

(η⁶-Arene)(η⁴-diene)Ru complexes (arene = benzene, mesitylene, hexamethylbenzene; diene = buta-1,3-diene, isoprene, 2,3-dimethyl- and 1,4-diphenylbuta-1,3-diene) were synthesized by reactions of (arene)RuCl2 pyridine adducts with the corresponding butenediylmagnesium compounds in tetrahydrofuran.The diene units do not undergo exchange reactions whereas in one case benzene was displaced by mesitylene.The X-ray diffraction analysis of (C6H6)(C4H6)Ru reveals a short-long-short bond sequence being quite unusual for transition metal butadiene compounds. 1H-NMRstudies prove a more pronounced sp² character for the terminal diene C atoms as compared with the tricarbonyl butadiene complexes of Fe and Ru.
