The synthesis of compounds (2,4,6-tBu3C6H2O)(η 1-C5Me5)PCo(CO)3 (6a) and {Co[μ-P(2,4,6-Me3C6H2)(η 1-C5Me5)]-(CO)2}2(CoCo) (8) on treatment of (R)(η1-C5Me5)P(Cl) (3a: R = 2,4,6-tBu3C6H2O; 3b: R = 2,4,6-Me3C6H2) with Na[Co(CO)4] (4) or Co2(CO)8 (5) is described. The reaction sequence for the formation of compound 8 is discussed. The X-ray structural analyses of compounds 6a and 8 are reported. Crystals of 6a are triclinic, space group P1, with a = 912.4(5), b = 936.4(5), c = 2078(1) pm, α = 87.42(5), β = 84.87(4), γ = 64.51(4)°, V = 1594(1) × 106 pm3 and Z = 2. Dinuclear 8 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c, with a = 868.7(5). b = 1370.2(9), c = 3616(2) pm, β = 93.46(5)°, V = 4297(4) × 106 pm3 and Z = 4. Compound 6a contains a phosphorus atom in a trigonal-planar environment, which is part of a phosphorus-cobalt double bond unit. Compound 8 features a planas Co2P2 core with a cobalt-cobalt double bond; the C5Me5 and 2,4,6-Me3C6H2 groups are arranged in pairs on the same side of the Co2P2 unit. Das Resultat der Roentgenstrukturanalyse der Komplexe 6 und 8 wird diskutiert. Verbindung 6akristallisiert in der triklinen Raumgruppe P1, mit a = 912.4(5), b = 936.4(5), c = 2078(1) pm, α = 87.42(5), β = 84.87(4), γ = 64.51(4)°, V = 1594(1) × 106 pm3 und Z = 2, waehrend der zweikernige Komplex8 in der monoklinen Raumgruppe P21/c, mit a = 868.7(5), b = 1370.2(9), c = 3616(2) pm, β = 93.46(5)°,V = 4297(4) × 106 pm3 undZ = 4 kristallisiert. Die Verbindung 6a weist ein Phosphor-Atom in trigonal-planarer Umgebung auf, das Bestandteil einer Phosphor-Cobalt-Doppelbindung ist. Die zweikernige Verbindung8 enthaelt dagegen einen planaren Co2P2-Baustein mit einer Cobalt-Cobalt-Doppelbindung. Die beiden C5Me5- und 2,4,6-Me3C 6H2 Reste in 8 stehen jeweils paarweise auf gleichen Seiten der Co2P2-Ebene.
