Preparation and reactions of γ,γ-dialkoxyallylic zirconium species: α,β-unsaturated acyl anion equivalent

γ,γ-Dialkoxyallylic zirconium species can be easily prepared from the reaction of triethyl orthoacrylate with zinrconocene equivalent (zirconocene-butene complex). This species reacts with aldehydes as an α,β-unsaturated acyl anion equivalent to give the 1-substituted-2,2-diethoxy-3-buten-1-ol derivatives.
