Synthesis and characterization of some ruthenium(II) schiff base complexes

A number of ruthenium complexes, RuL₂(H₂O)₂Cl₂ (where L = monodentate Schiff bases derived from 3-and 4-anisaldehyde, 2-nitrobenzaldehyde, 4-chlorobenzaldehyde with 4-toluidine and 4-aminobenzoic acid) and RuL'(H₂O)(PPh₃)Cl₂ (where L' = bidentate Schiff bases derived from 2-nitrobenzaldehyde or 3-hydroxybenzaldehyde with 3,4-diaminotoluene), have been prepared. These complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV-Vis, ¹H NMR, conductance measurements and magnetic moments.
