In the presence of phosphites, PhNCS inserts into the Cu^I-OPh bond; the complex formed loses the phosphite and oligomerises to form a unique copper(I) hexamer hexakis<μ-copper(I)> (2), as evidenced from an X-ray crystallographic study.
