2-Arylmethylene-1-tetralinthione reacted with isoprene and (E,E)-1,4-diphenyl-1,3-butadiene to give the 3,4-dihydro-2H-thiopyran derivatives.In these reactions, the thiones and dienes are formally acting as 4?- and 2?-electron components, respectively.
