[Ru(μ-O₂CH)(CO)₂(PPh₃)]₂ in acetonitrile is an efficient catalyst precursor for the Michael addition of soft carbonucleophiles to butenone. The utilization of terminal alkynes as donors makes possible the selective formation of γ,δ-ynones.
