Treatment of chaparrinone triacetate with benzeneseleninic anhydride afforded in addition to the Δ14,15-dehydro compound two products arising from angular hydroxylation at C(5).The mechanism of this reaction is discussed.The corresponding deacetylated compounds do not display significant antineoplastic activity.
