Platinacyclopentadienes are obtained in high yield from the reaction between trialkylboranes R3B (R = Me, Et, iPr) and cis-1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethanediethynylplatinum(II) as the result of two consecutive 1,1-organoboration reactions.
