Octaphenyl-digerma-disila-trioxane (Ph8Ge2Si2O3) has been synthesized by the reaction of ClPh2Ge-GePh2Cl with Ph2Si(OH)2.X-Ray analysis showed the presence of a new seven-membered germanium-silicon-oxygen ring with a germanium-germanium bond.The ring is only slightly puckered and has C₂ symmetry (twisted chair conformation).
