Conclusions
Our study shows that predischarge testing can predict long-
term need for revascularization procedures. In particular,
echocardiographic indices of inducible ischemia are the best
predictors of late (> 6 months) PTCA and CABG. Cost–bene-
fit analysis of aggressive secondary prevention measures in
these patients seems advisable.
