Relative reactivities of toluene and substituted toluenes toward NBS have been compared in CCl4 (heterogeneous phase) and in CH2Cl2 (homogeneous phase).Hammett correlations show better fit with ?⁺ to give ρ's as follows, ρ=-1.41 (-1.41), -1.33,
