Dodecacarbonyltriruthenium (Ru3(CO)12) and (η⁴-1,5-cyclooctadiene)(η⁶-1,3,5-cyclooctatriene)ruthenium (Ru(COD)(COT) catalyzed the hydroacylation of olefins with aldehydes at 180-200 deg C for 48 h under 20 kgcm^-2 of carbon monoxide to give unsymmetric ketones in good yields.
