chemical yields. The resulting peroxide products could be
further transformed into various substituted 3,4-dihydro-1,4-
benzoxazin-2-ones in good to excellent yields. This peroxidation
reaction can be upscalable to grams. A radical process was
involved in this reaction, and the radical intermediate can be
captured by BHT. Further investigations on the mechanism and
synthetic application of these reactions are ongoing in our
group.
