Two new phenyl glucosides, 5-(3'-glucosyl)benzoyloxygentisic acid and 2,6-dimethoxy-4-hydroxyphenol 1-glucoside were isolated together with 1-sinapoyl glucoside from the hairy roots of Swertia japonica.The structures were elucidated on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence.
